Paul McCartney called The Rolling Stones a blues cover band in a new interview in which he compared his Beatles to their fellow British musical legends.'I’m not sure I should say it, but they’re a blues cover band, that’s sort of what the Stones are,' McCartney, 79, told The New Yorker. 'I think our net was cast a bit wider than theirs.'The comments came about a year-and-a-half after McCartney told Howard Stern he believed his band was better overall.
