Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic The estate of Patsy Cline has signed a partnership with Sandbox Succession, the legacy division of manager-executive Jason Owen‘s Sandbox Entertainment, to expand the country legend’s presence in media, licensing and other interests.
The Cline agreement adds to a growing portfolio under Sandbox Succession president Josh Matas. The company has already entered into agreements in the last few years to handle the estates of Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Loretta Lynn and racing great Richard Petty.
Cline’s daughter and heir, Julie Fudge, who represents Patsy Cline Enterprises, said the estate plans to work closely with Sandbox on doing more with her mother’s legacy in the realms of film, TV, licensing, publishing, hospitality and merchandising.
Said Fudge in a statement, “On behalf of PCE and my brothers Randy and Charlies, Jr., we are pleased and proud to be with Josh and Sandbox Succession for this exciting next step in the continued expansion and promotion of the global legacy of all things Patsy Cline.
