Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt says he found it "very satisfying" to play a role in Katie Hopkins being permanently banned from Twitter.
The Apprentice drop-out was removed from the platform last month after making a series of offensive posts about the Black Lives Matter movement.
The posts let to a Change.org petition being launched calling for Hopkins' account to be permanently removed, with those signing it citing a series of other posts in which the 45-year-old had spread hateful messages.
After enforcing the ban and ensuring that Hopkins should never be able to return to the platform, a Twitter spokesman told the Huffington Post: "Keeping Twitter safe is a top priority for us – abuse and hateful conduct have no place
