Patrice Evra insists Erik ten Hag's decision to play Luke Shaw at centre-back hints at the fact that 'something is wrong' for Raphael Varane at Manchester United.
Varane has not started a game for United since the 1-0 Champions League win at FC Copenhagen at the end of October. The 30-year-old was absent from the matchday squad for Wednesday's meeting with Chelsea due to what Erik ten Hag described as a sore back.
During Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Newcastle, Ten Hag decided to move Shaw into a more central role alongside Harry Maguire, but moved the 28-year-old back out wide for the visit of Chelsea to Old Trafford.
