The iconic Paris Match name is to vanish from Kilmarnock after more than 35 years. The beloved bar and cafe in the town centre is currently undergoing a radical makeover that includes a name change.New owners have rebranded the famous watering hole and eaterie 'The Loft Bar'.Opened in 1985, the Princes Street venue has been a favourite venue for generations of locals throughout the decades.Famed for its eccentric decor, which included the half the shell of a classic VW Beetle with a mannequin stuffed inside, the popular establishment was revered for both its good food throughout the day and liveliness as a bar into the evenings. From the tandem bicycle pinned to the beams and the eponymous magazines on the wall to the candles stuck in wine bottles and the chic black and white-checked floor; the town will never see the likes of Paris again. The new owner has said the venue is being refurbished at the moment and will be trading again soon.A poster of the remodelled bar states that it will be open from Monday to Thursday from 12pm to 10pm and Friday to Sunday from 12pm to 1am.Promising live DJs every weekend, the new era will at least still serve food, with pizza and pasta promoted on literature released this week.Cocktails, shots and draught beers will also be on offer when it reopens shortly. The owner posted on Facebook: "We are proud to announce our new venue will be opening very soon if you could give us a follow on our Instagram page and share it that would be very much appreciated: 'theloftbar0'"Looking forward to seeing you all there."Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines –sign up to our free daily newsletter here
