Paisley attempted murder probe as police appeal for public's help

Police are tonight appealing for information following an attempted murder in Paisley.A 26-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked in a flat in Maxwellton Street on Sunday evening.Emergency services raced to the West End street in the town around 5.40pm.Several ambulances and dozens of police officers swarmed the scene as they set up a cordon and closed the area between Maxwellton Road and Gordon Street overnight.The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment where staff have described his condition as critical.
