Paddy McGuinness 'homesick' after splitting from wife Christine

Paddy McGuinness has broken his silence on his split from wife Christine, 35, almost nine months on from the shock separation as he admits he is suffering from 'homesickness.'Following a 'make or break' family holiday trip in July last year the Top Gear host, 49, and his wife decided to part ways.

The couple had been married for 11 years and share three children Penelope, Felicity and Leo together. Despite their split, Paddy and Christine continued to live in the family home together for a number of months as they co-parented their three children, all of which have been diagnosed with autism.Paddy has opened up for the first time about battling a bout of homesickness almost nine months on from the couple parting ways.The 49-year-old has discussed his dislike of being away from his family, as he continues to live with his estranged partner and their three children."I've always had a sort of rule what I stick by where I never do more than nine days anywhere because I just like being at home," Paddy revealed."I think naturally you get homesick," he added to The Sun.The TV presenting icon also revealed that even while he's travelling, he always ensures that his phone is close by so he can keep in contact with his children.After making the joint decision to continue to live together for the sake of their children, Christine and Paddy have been open about their co-parenting dynamic in their household.Speaking on Heart FM's No Filter this week, Christine explained: "We’re not actually like any other family I know."I love the way we are, I try not to compare myself to any other family because we're actually not like any other family that I know."I'm comfortable and I embrace our family the way we are, and I love our differences.
