Sam Heughan revealed he had a recurring nightmare about performing on stage naked, which was only cured by making his nightmare a reality.The 41-year-old actor is best known for his role as Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in the on-screen adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.The Dumfries-born star recently admitted in an interview with InStyle that he would have recurring dreams about performing naked. “I was naked on stage,” he admitted frankly. “Or I would arrive at the theatre and I was running late.

I didn’t know the lines. "I hadn’t rehearsed, but they wanted me to go on and I was literally on stage like, ‘I don’t know what I'm doing here.’”Most interestingly, Sam admitted that the only way he was able to conquer his nightmare was by actually getting his clothes off on stage. “I actually had to be naked on stage for a show and then never had that dream again,” he revealed.

Sam took his kit off for his performance in David Greig’s play, Outlying Islands, and was nominated for a Lawrence Olivier Award for “Best New Comer" but unfortunately didn't win. “I wasn’t expecting to win,” he told Interview Magazine in 2015, “though the moment they were about to announce it I was like, ‘Oh my god, I really hope I don’t win.’ You have to make a speech, and I hadn’t written one,” he continues. “I love playing a character, but I hate being myself doing that sort of thing.”At the time of his performance, Sam was just 22 and was in his first year of studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
