We all have our own favourite episodes of the show, and there's always debate around which ones everyone loves. But it seems that it's not just fans of Outlander who have an opinion, author and creator Diana Gabaldon and stars Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser) have also revealed their choices.
Speaking with TV Guide for their Outlander Forever Special Collector’s Issue, the trio spoke about the episodes from each season which really resonated with them.
All three have a varied selection of episodes, with each giving insight as why they chose them. The star, who plays Jamie in the hit show, revealed some of the episodes that were most memorable for him, including the conclusion to season one, To Ransom a Man's Soul , which features his torture at the hands of Black Jack Randall.
He described the harrowing episode as one of the "most challenging" things he's ever filmed. The Scots actor also pointed to the first episode of Season 3, The Battle Joined , which focusses on the Battle of Culloden and sees the "final goodbye" to the Scottish clan characters and a big chapter in Jamie's life. Season 4, Episode 9, The Birds & the BeesThough we often see Jamie display emotion when it comes to Claire and his kin, but it was especially poignant getting to see him react so powerfully to meeting someone he'd never met before in Season 4, Episode 9, The Birds & the Bees.Finally getting to meet his daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) for the first time, Sam said that this moment with Jamie was one of his overall favourites.“Jamie and Brianna finally meeting was such an iconic moment," Sam explained.
