Outlander's David Berry opens up on Lord John's return and 'plans' for a spinoff with him

After what everyone knew, or at least hoped, wasn't a final goodbye from Lord John Grey in season five of Outlander – the worst kept secret of this latest season was finally revealed.

That's right, David Berry made his return to the show in episode 5, “Give Me Liberty”, with Lord John hoping to sway Jamie into staying loyal to the crown.

The fan favourite stole the show as Jamie revealed that he planned to join the Colonials and their struggle for independence.Actor David Berry spoke to both the Dipp and Entertainment Weekly about his return.

In an interview with the dipp, he admitted that John will return in season seven as, in his own words, there needs to be a "reconciliation" as their friendship has been "damaged." Sadly though, this also means he might not reappear in season six, as you'd expect with only three episodes left.He said: "The way I played it, the way I related to it, it's as if you're with someone – a partner, romantic partner, or anyone — and they cheat on you and that is a line in the sand."Depending on how much you love that person, can you forgive them?
