Heartbreaking tributes have been paid to a former prison and RAF worker who has been described as "a big lad with a big heart" after he was shot outside a gym.

Lenny Scott from Prescot, was on Peel Road, Skelmersdale, at around 7.35pm on the night of February 8 when he was shot. The 33-year-old was taken to hospital with severe injuries which he later succumbed to, the Liverpool Echo reports.

A murder investigation was launched and a 25-year-old man from Kensington in Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday, February 11 and remains in custody. READ MORE: 'Three people were there...
