Our base was the Wyndham Grand Costa del Sol resort in Mijas, perfectly situated between Malaga and Marbella. This location provides an ideal starting point to explore the region of Andalucia and there's plenty to see and do.

We ventured on a day trip through the mountains to Ronda, one of Spain's oldest and most picturesque cities. Ernest Hemingway spent time here, and it's believed that the dramatic El Tajo gorge inspired his novel For Whom The Bell Tolls.

Take some time to visit the Puente Nuevo bridge, offering breathtaking views of the chasm 390ft below, or meander through the winding streets to experience Ronda's Moorish history.
