One Ayrshire area now in Scotland's worst-hit coronavirus red zones

Ayrshire is still considered to be one of the worst-hit Covid red zones in Scotland. Data published yesterday shows that the pocket in South Ayrshire has the third-worst 7-day coronavirus case-rate per 100,000 population in the country at the moment.Last week we revealed that Lochside, Braehead and Whitletts was the COVID-19 capital of Scotland.It followed several high-profile coronavirus outbreaks at schools in the region.But one week on from the incredibly high figures, the small zone in Ayr is still one of the country's worst-hit for its case rate.In the past week the area has recorded 33 cases and has a case rate of 782.7.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football.
