Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has promoted four academy prospects ahead of Tuesday night’s clash with Wolves.
The quintet of youngsters have been training with the first team ahead of the game against Nuno Espirito Santos’ side. One of those involved at Carrington was Ethan Laird, who has been a regular recently in defence for the U23s.
The 19-year-old England youth international will provide back up for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back, an area where United don’t have an awful lot of cover.
Will Fish was also spotted training with the first team after a run of impressive games with the U23s side. Fish, who is still only 17, has risen right through the academy ranks, and captained the U16s last season.
