The 73-year-old adventure-seeking owner of Oldham Athletic has announced he will row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic for a second time to raise money for research into dementia.
Frank Rothwell, then 70, became the oldest person to row across the ocean when the grandad first attempted the feat in 2021, raising £1.1m in the process.
His brother-in-law Roger died with Alzheimer’s aged 62 during his row. Today (Thursday), the Latics chairman announced he was going to do it all over again, and this time he wants to raise another £1m for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
