Mel Blatt 'lives next door to mum' as the pair compete on Celeb Race Across the World
ok.co.ukAll Saints' Mel Blatt is taking part in Celebrity Race Across the World and her mum Helene is coming along for the ride. In fact, the pair will spend every minute of the day together for a whole month.
However, the singer has revealed that she's used to being with her mum all the time as the mother-daughter pair are neighbours!
Speaking about filming the show, the 48-year-old singer said that the TV challenge marked "new territory" for her relationship with Helene. "Spending a month together - I mean, we've lived next door to each other for the last 10 years and before that we've always been in each other's pockets," she said. "So spending a month with my mum wasn't as joyful as everybody else because we've been doing that our entire lives!" The All Saints star is competing against Good Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford, McFly’s Harry Judd and racing driver and pundit Billy Monger as they race from Morocco to Norway with their chosen relatives in tow for the BBC spin-off series.
The celebs, who've each brought a family member along for the journey as their plus one, will be travelling across 10,000 kilometres in the hopes of being the first pair to reach Tromso, the Arctic capital.
