A member of an organised crime gang stole thousands of pounds after attacking ATM machines across the north west. Wayne Singleton, 36, has been jailed following a major police investigation into the incidents, which saw walls blown up and cash machines hacked at with saws.
Singleton was part of the criminal gang who committed offences including burglary, theft and various ATM attacks at premises in Nottinghamshire, the West Midlands, Derbyshire and Greater Manchester.
Between July 2018 and March 2019, one of the offenders came to the attention of police, with evidence indicating they were working with others to commit various crimes across the regions.
Police set up 'Operation Benson', instigated in March 2019 by the Serious and Organised Crime Group (SOCG). Offences predominantly involved the targeting of automatic cash dispensing machines.
