A city-centre bakery specialising in New York-inspired giant cookies, doughnuts and sweet bakes is launching its very own bakery and cafe at the former Manchester Cat Cafe site in the Northern Quarter.

Gooey's neighbourhood bakery and cafe will open this weekend, and will boast an in-house bakery, takeout coffee ordering and a counter full of pastries, cookies and more.

Tucked off High Street, its new site overlooking the square, will bring a West Coast vibe and Northern Quarter charm. A sneak peak at the interiors suggests a breezy and casual affair, allowing the bakes and sweet treats to take centre stage.

The bakery has gained a 'cult-like' following since it set up shop doing delivery during lockdown and later a kiosk at the entrance of Ducie Street Warehouse.
