His second year in South Yorkshire ended in a disappointing relegation, yet Guardiola told reporters in North Carolina this week that he hopes for McAtee to emerge stronger from the experience.
12 months ago, McAtee impressed on pre-season in Asia and City wanted him to stay, but he turned around and chose regular minutes over a fringe role under Guardiola.
