North Lanarkshire Council has reminded residents to ensure they have photo ID when voting at a polling station on July 4. Under new rules introduced by the UK Government, anyone voting in person at a General Election must show an accepted form of photo ID.

This includes a passport, driver’s licence, Young Scot Card, Scottish National Entitlement Card or a blue badge. A full list of accepted ID is given at www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voting-and-elections/voter-id.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
