As Greater Manchester enjoyed the warm weather, neighbours on Crankwood Road were in their front gardens. They weren't out for the sunshine, but to try and find out why there was a huge police scene on their doorstep.
On Wednesday night (May 8), officers raced to the scene in Abram, Wigan. A house on the usually 'quiet' street became the focus of a huge investigation.
News quickly spread that the property was one of several to have been raided by cops - and that three men had been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.
Fear gripped the neighbourhood as friends and families speculated what had been going on yards from their homes. Greater Manchester Police said three men - aged 35, 36 and 51 - were arrested at separate locations on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.
