An OAP has died in Edinburgh today after 'gunshots' were heard on a residential street.Officers from Police Scotland descended on Fernieside Crescent in the capital after receiving reports of a disturbance within a house on the street at 8.25am on Tuesday, May 21.
Paramedics also attended and the 78-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.Police confirmed they have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection.
Inquiries into the incident remain ongoing. Images from the scene show multiple cop vehicles and ambulance crews in attendance.This was an isolated incident, however, officers remain in the area to provide public reassurance.A Police Scotland statement reads: "A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 78-year-old woman in Edinburgh on Tuesday, 21 May, 2024.
