No further flooding is expected in the Didsbury area of south Manchester as Environment Agency engineers work to repair damage to a key defence basin, council bosses have said.
Manchester city council said on Sunday that heavy rain and melting snow led to water levels on the River Mersey rising again.
It resulted in an 'act now' flood warning being issued, which remained in place on Monday covering the Palatine Road area and other surrounding locations.
The council said on Sunday night that although no 'evacuation orders' were put in place, staff from the police, fire service, council and Environment Agency were out 'knocking on doors' to make residents aware.
