NME announces special print edition celebrating release of ‘A Complete Unknown’ starring Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan

In partnership with Searchlight PicturesNME is thrilled to announce plans for a special print edition magazine celebrating new film A Complete Unknown and the legacy of legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.The 26-page one-shot will be available for free on January 9 ahead of the film’s UK release on January 17 and stars Timothée Chalamet as Dylan.

A Complete Unknown tells the rock icon’s story from his sudden breakout in the early 1960s until his controversial 1965 performance at Newport Folk Festival – when he performed live with electric instruments for the first time.During the film, we meet an array of pivotal figures in Dylan’s life – from the folk-poet Pete Seeger (played by acclaimed actor Edward Norton) to influential singer and one-time romantic interest Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro).

Also included is Sylvie Russo (Elle Fanning), who is a surrogate for Suze Rotolo, Dylan’s real-life first love.The special edition of NME is an in-depth exploration of the film and Dylan’s enduring impact on popular music.

It features revealing interviews with Chalamet, director James Mangold and the rest of the cast about the movie. There’s a beginner’s guide to Dylan’s impressive back catalogue of tunes, as well as exclusive pullout posters inspired by A Complete Unknown.We’ve also delved into the NME archives to dust off some vintage interviews with Dylan, unseen by anyone for decades.
