Nigel Farage today announced he was quitting frontline politics – again. The former UKIP party leader, who tried and failed seven times to become an MP, claimed his legacy was complete with Britain out of the EU.
Ex-City trader Mr Farage, 56, who also led the Brexit Party and Reform UK party, wants to become a social media star. He told his 1.6 million Twitter followers in a 10-minute video: “I will continue to play my part through the media, social media and new projects. “My thanks go out to the many millions that helped change the course of history forever.” Announcing his retreat, he said he was “delighted to take up a position as Honorary President of Reform UK”.
