Nicola Sturgeon has lit a candle at her home in memory of Sarah Everard and victims of male violence. The First Minister joined thousands across Scotland in paying tribute to the 33-year-old marketing executive, who was found dead in London earlier this week.
Scots shared their experiences of male violence across social media following news of the discovery of Sarah’s body - with many taking to the streets to pay their respects today.
The SNP leader posted a picture of a candle lit by the window of her home earlier this evening in her own tribute. Sturgeon wrote on Twitter: “For Sarah, and all the others #ReclaimTheStreets.” People across the country joined a series of ‘ Reclaim These Streets ’ events in honour of Sarah today.
