Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty sentenced to year of house arrest for failing to register as sex offender

CBS Los Angeles.Petty, who married Minaj in 2019, had been convicted of first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old in New York in 1995 and served four years in prison.

However, when he and Minaj moved to California in 2019, he failed to register as a sex offender within the required period of five days.

He pleaded guilty back in September on a federal count of failing to register as a sex offender and prosecutors had previously urged the judge to sentence Petty to further prison time.They had recommended 15 months in prison and five years of supervised release, claiming that being under house arrest in the mansion he shares with Minaj in a gated community was not enough of a punishment.

Petty faced further legal trouble in August after his alleged rape victim, Jennifer Hough, filed a lawsuit against him and Minaj.
