NHS dentistry is at its "at its most perilous point in its 75-year history" and needs urgent reforms, a think tank has warned.
A report by The Nuffield Trust has highlighted issues such as lack of funding, the pandemic, and growing inequalities in oral health.
The analysis shows that total spending for dental services was £3.1 billion in 2021/22, a drop of £525 million since 2014/15.
It also found that the central budget had been "consistently underspent" every year except 2020/21, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
