United, who recorded their second win of pre-season with a 1-0 triumph over French club Lyon at Murrayfield in Edinburgh on Wednesday, were linked with the prospect of signing the PSG ace back in May.

PSG are owned by Qatar Sports Investment and it was suggested that the prospect of Sheikh Jassim completing a takeover in M16 would lead to a big-name signing.
