News anchor Dan Walker 'joins' Gladiators - and has already picked a 'stage name'
ok.co.ukChannel 5 News anchor Dan Walker has hinted at a big career change in a recent social media post.The 47 year old shared a snap of himself with the Gladiators, jokingly telling his followers that he's considering joining their ranks as they film series two at Sheffield's Utilita Arena.
He quipped: "Delighted to be joining the cast of Gladiators.They saw my muscles and instantly signed me up. ". He even gave himself a stage name - Lanky.To reassure fans that he was only joking about leaving his broadcasting job, he added a laughing emoji to his post.
His followers played along with the joke, suggesting other stage names like "You're more like a chip stick or chicken carcass! " and "You're more like a chip stick or chicken carcass! ".
One fan chimed in with "Lampshade.", reports the Mirror, while another suggested he start building muscle. As the celebrity version of the show approaches, stars including Louise Minchin, Joel Dommett, Rob Beckett, and Ellie Taylor are set to compete against the athletic Gladiators.
