ARIZONA is fancied to make it third time lucky against hot favourite Pinatubo and give Aidan O’Brien his 11th triumph in the QIPCO 2,000 Guineas (3.35) at Newmarket on Saturday.
Pinatubo is the odds-on favourite to extend his unbeaten run in the colts’ Classic after gaining six wins from six starts as a two-year-old.
Two of those successes saw him finish in front of Arizona, but there are reasons to believe the Ballydoyle colt can gain his revenge.
The selection was beaten over nine lengths when third to the Godolphin colt in the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh last September.
