UK holidaymakers have been warned of a new passport change that will come into effect this week for the first time in over 70 years.
Before her passing in September 2022, the late Queen Elizabeth II issued all of the UK passports under her official title as Her Majesty.
Now, people will begin to receive passports that bear 'His Majesty' instead, as they will be issued in the name of King Charles III.The first British passports with His Majesty's statement written inside will be handed out this week.
This new passport change is the first change from 'Her Majesty' to 'His Majesty' since 1952 - which was the final year's reign of the last male monarch, King George VI.It has been described as a "new era in history" by Home Secretary Suella Braverman.
