Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

New Regency Lands Film & TV Rights To ‘Sorrow and Bliss’ Novel By Meg Mason

EXCLUSIVE: New Regency has secured the film and television rights to Meg Mason’s novel, Sorrow and Bliss, in what was said to be a competitive situation.The book is set to be released via HarperCollins in US and Canada on February 9 and by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in the UK on June 10.

It was published by HarperCollins in Australia and New Zealand in September 2020.Sorrow and Bliss is about a woman trying to make sense of the mental illness that’s plagued her for decades.

It marks the third novel from Mason, following her debut, Say It Again in a Nice Voice, a memoir of early motherhood published by HarperCollins in 2012, and You Be Mother, also released by HarperCollins in 2017.Mason, who began her career at The Financial Times and The Times
