As the regeneration of Eccles continues, Salford City Council have announced a fascinating new project that aims to capture the historic town.
Picturing Eccles, a new photography project looking to showcase the town in an exhibition at Eccles Library, in shop windows, and around the town centre, will run from Friday 6 September to Saturday 19 October.
It will aim to preserve the history of the town and residents, as they sit alongside new photographs of beautiful memories. The project led by Paula Keenan, the Wigan based photographer, will be working in partnership with Open Eye Gallery, to use pictures to create a combination of nostalgia and hope for the future.
The newly captured photographs will sit alongside those from the past, in celebration of the future Eccles and its growing community.
