New family homes will be built as part of regeneration work in a Salford area which is “dominated by apartments.” The council approved plans this week to push forward regeneration plans in Pendleton, building 477 homes around Clarendon Park south of Churchill Way.
This will see land sold to Lovell Together LL to get the work started. More than 300 of these homes will be two, three or four-bedroom houses, with the rest set to be one or two-bed apartments.
Around 140 will be designated as ‘affordable’ housing, with 86 for social rent. New allotments are also set to be made to encourage residents to live healthier lives, and support local wildlife. Work in the area is part of a wider masterplan of regeneration in Pendleton which started in 2013.
