Court, managing director Stephen Jones, 60, denied the manslaughter of his employee Norman Butler by gross negligence.The jury was told how Butler, 60, of Prestatyn, had only worked for the firm for about a month, with his job being to collect cardboard waste and bring it back to Tir Llwyd to put into bales.The court heard how safety was “shockingly bad” at the recycling plant, Wales Online reports.It was so poor that the manager of Recycle Cymru Ltd (RCL) didn’t even have the machine’s 78-page safety manual to hand and lied to a health and safety inspector the day before the accident.Prosecutor Craig Hassall QC said Mr Butler, a father-of-three, collected cardboard in his van on November 30, 2017, and took it back along the A55 to RCL.A conveyor belt sloped up toward the ceiling. Cardboard would go along it and drop into a hopper container, three and a half metres off the ground.

BTS against embarking on their previously announced extended break.The association released a statement on June 22, per The Korea Times, where a “concerned” Lee wrote about a personal unease regarding the possible consequences for the K-pop industry stemming from BTS’ break.The K-pop boyband first announced last week that they would be “[taking] time to explore some solo projects” during a live broadcast celebrating their ninth anniversary. The boyband are set to embark on an extended break in order to pursue personal endeavours.“I’m concerned that the Korean wave centring around BTS, which has the strongest cultural soft power in Korea and the world, may fade away … Like a ‘second Beatles’ won’t arrive easily, it is unlikely for there to be a ‘second BTS,’ so I’m worried that hallyu may be cut,” the statement read.Further in the statement, Lee requested for the K-pop juggernauts to “reconsider” their decision to go on the extended break, writing: “You may have made the decision after deep deliberation, but would you reconsider [a withdrawal of the decision] for the sake of Korea’s music industry?”According to The Korea Times, Lee’s statement also posited that without the presence of BTS, there would also be a lack of their fanbase, officially named ARMYs.

Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant explosion has claimed that around 80% of Russian soldiers sent to clean it up died from being there.Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes, which is available to watch on Sky Documentaries right now, highlights newly-discovered archive footage and witness accounts of the aftermath of the tragedy.And it shows that the former Soviet leaders sent around 5,000 men on a suicide mission to clean up the site – which the soldiers were unaware of at the time.Director James Jones said: “The Soviet government played fast and loose with the truth.“They thought they would be able to film the clean-up and look like a country full of heroic people. “There were government-made documentaries, released in Soviet theatres, one year after the explosion, but it was dangerous for the film-makers to have gone so close to the radiation.“One of the directors died, as a result of radiation poisoning, one month after his film premiered.”According to official Soviet Union records, 31 people died from the explosion in Prypyat, but the true figure is though to be anywhere upwards of around 5,000 to around 10,000, if deaths as a result of the clean-up and after effects are included.
