Further details of the planned East Airdrie link road and its development have been shared as a second public consultation on the proposed new route gets underway.The 10-kilometre single carriageway will run from Chapelhall to Riggend, diverting through traffic away from the congested A73 and providing road access to the forthcoming new Monklands Hospital.Public feedback is being sought for the next two months, following an initial consultation last year highlighting the preferred route, and subsequent analysis which has ruled out suggested extensions west of Riggend on cost grounds.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
