Ongoing problems with a burst water pipe in Manchester city centre have led to New Century Hall cancelling a performance this evening, the venue has confirmed.
Yannis and the Yaw, featuring Yannis Philippakis of Foals, had been due to perform. However, in a statement New Century Hall has said that the performance will not go ahead as they are not confident that they can "open safely".
They explained that this decision had been taken due to "ongoing water issues" in the city centre. The cancellation has come at very short notice, with New Century Hall writing that the issues had only affected the venue "in the last hour".
In a statement posted to Instagram, the venue wrote: "Due to ongoing water issues in Manchester City Centre, which in the last hour have reached New Century Hall, we are unfortunately unable to open safely for the Yannis and the Yaw show tonight (9/12/24).
