A Lanarkshire law firm have a hard act to follow this year after a hugely successful 2022. McGovern Reid Court Lawyers, who have been based in Wishaw for over 30 years, was named Scotland’s Criminal Law Firm of the Year.The lawyers’ has an office in the town’s Caledonian Road and another in Quarry Street in Hamilton.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

I genuinely don’t know why he chose the location, although he did do his traineeship in Coatbridge.“I genuinely never considered any other career, I just always wanted to do criminal defence.

My dad generally never spoke about his job, he was very good at switching off. It’s a very intense and demanding job. It’s 24/7 and you don’t really get time off.“You can have clients, or the police, phoning in the middle of the night as they are needing help.“The firm’s got bigger recently and we now have two trainees as well, which has made life a bit easier.
