BBC chief Tim Davie has agreed to meet campaigners battling to win back free TV licences for over-75s. In a glimmer of hope for pensioners, the new director-general will hold talks with the Silver Voices group in the coming weeks.
Its director Dennis Reed wrote to Mr Davie when he took up the top job at the corporation earlier this month, urging the BBC to thrash out a rescue plan with the Government to reinstate free licences for millions of OAPs.
