BBC director general Tim Davie is willing to sack stars and hand out Twitter bans if they breach impartiality guidelines. The channel boss - who was appointed earlier this month - shared that he is willing to take a firm stance on BBC staff when speaking to the House of Commons Digital, Culture, Media and Sport select committee on Tuesday.
He told MPs: "We are going to be publishing in the next few weeks, and this is imminent, clear social media guidelines, and they will cover both news and current affairs, and beyond news and current affairs.
