New Ayr United signing Ryan Gondoh can't wait to team up with old pal Tomi Adeloye - and put Scottish defences to the sword.
The pair once hit up Ayia Napa on a lads holiday as teenagers and have remained firm friends ever since. Now Londoner Gondoh has been reuinted with Ayr's top scorer after agreeing to join Lee Bullen's revolution at Somerset Park.
Gondoh, 24, will swap the ranks of part time football in England after leaving behind Wealdstone of the Conference Premier.The attacking midfielder has agreed an 18 month deal and pledged to make the most of his chance north of the border.
He told the Ayrshire Post: "As soon as I had the opportunity to come to Scotland, I jumped on it straight away. "A couple of my friends have come up - my best pal Mickel Miller went to Hamilton and got a move to Rotherham."And Joe Aribo is another who I know well and look at what he's achieved at Rangers so far."I've known Tomi for years and actually played against him last year when he was at Barnet and I was at Wealdstone, which is a massive rivalry down there."We beat them 5-0 that day so that's something I'll have to remind him about when I see him!"I would have jumped at the chance up here regardless of whether I knew anyone, but Tomi being here makes me feel ten times better and hopefully we can get a good understanding going on the pitch."Gondoh insists the steady stream of players now heading north from south east England is proof that the game in Scotland is increasing in stature.He added: "The platform and opportunity is there...it's just whether you can take it or not."People down south are starting to give the game up here the recognition it deserves because it can open many doors if you come here and do well."It's no longer
