A Netflix documentary has helped to find a girl six years after she went missing, after featuring age progression photos of her.
Kayla Unbehaun's story was featured on Netflix's Unsolved Mysteries which then led to a shop owner in North Carolina, USA, recognising her.
Kayla was just nine years old when she vanished in 2017 after allegedly being abducted by her mother, Heather Unbehaun. At the time of her disappearance, Kayla had spending the day with her mother, who had visitation rights, but lived with her father who had full custody. The child's father, Ryan Iskerka, found both Kayla and her mum missing when he arrived to collect her from her mother's house in Wheaton, Illinois - 20 miles from his home in South Elgin, also in Illinois.
Nothing was heard from the pair for years, until an unidentified shop owner 600 miles away in the city of Asheville, North Carolina, spotted Kayla as reported in the Chicago Sun Times.
