New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has hinted he will not get hung up on formations as he settles into life at Old Trafford.

Following his appointment as Erik ten Hag's successor earlier this month, much of the talk has been about how he is expected to install his trademark 3-4-3 system.

Amorim enjoyed plenty of success at Sporting Lisbon with that set-up and many United fans believe he should stick to his principles in his attempts to restore the Reds to their former glories.

Despite winning two trophies under Ten Hag, United often lacked a recognised style of play. Their style, certainly last season, resembled something you would often see on a basketball court, in the sense games would ebb and flow at 100mph.
