A man has been charged in connection with the murder of a pensioner in Timperley. John Neil suffered injuries in an alleged 'disturbance' at a property on Riddings Road on Sunday, July 9 last year.
The 82-year-old was rushed to hospital but tragically died a short time later. An investigation was launched, with forensic officers spotted combing the scene for evidence following the incident.
In an update issued today (February 22), Greater Manchester Police confirmed a man has now been charged with murder in connection to Mr Neil's death. The 50-year-old is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' court today. In a statement, police said: "Colin Neil (04/03/1973), of Riddings Road, Timperley, has been charged with murder and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (Thursday 22 February 2024). "This charge relates to the death of 82-year-old John Neil, who sadly died from his injuries following a disturbance at a property on Riddings Road, Timperley, on Sunday 9 July 2023."
