Mum spots £5 peeking through letterbox – then rumbles 'scary' reason it's there

A mum did a double-take when she spotted a fiver that had been pushed through her letterbox.There was no letter or envelope indicating where the £5 note had come from.

And it wasn't until she stepped outside to walk her dog that she ended up learning the truth.Ali Smith took to TikTok to share the surprising story.

She said: "I've just come into the porch to find a £5 note posted through the letterbox. No envelope, no nothing. I'm thinking, 'Who on Earth is posting £5 through the letterbox?'"When Ali left home later in the day, she noticed a spooky picture hanging up in the window that made everything become clear.She added: "[My son] did some Halloween crafts yesterday.

He put the picture in the window, with this sign [that says] 'If I scared you, please leave five pounds'."Ali couldn't help but laugh when she realised why the cash had been posted through her letterbox.
