Actor and former X Factor winner Shayne Ward didn't get the warmest of receptions from Strictly Come Dancing viewers when he first stepped out into the ballroom.
After performing his first dance with Nancy Xu in Week One, the 40-year-old Coronation Street actor was accused by some viewers of being "cocky", and "loving himself".
After keeping his head high, Shayne now reveals exclusively to OK! that the online trolls don't just affect him - they also affect his family, in particular his mum Philomena, who has suffered with prolonged ill health. “I think when it comes to social media and negative comments, I’m only human, and it can get to me.
It can also upset my mum and Sophie when it’s a personal attack." Shayne's professional dance partner Nancy Xu, who is currently dancing in her fourth series of the hit BBC show, came to Shayne’s defence when the comments trickled in, assuring people that “NOBODY is confident” when they're stepping into the ballroom for the live shows.
