A mum has lost over half her body weight and bagged the title of 'Slimmer of the Year' after spotting two alarming words on her doctor's computer.
Ali Ridgley, 52, achieved an incredible 13st (82kg) weight loss to be named Slimming World's Woman of the Year 2024.The military mess manager from Plymouth, Devon, was spurred into action after seeing the term 'morbidly obese' in her medical records during a routine check-up.
Now, she's training for a marathon, running her own dance classes, and is proud to have remained a 'foodie' throughout her transformation.
At her heaviest, Ali weighed nearly 23st (145kg). She said: "Seeing the words on my doctor's screen spurred me into action." She added: "I was a heart attack waiting to happen.
