Police who pulled over a woman for her 'erratic driving' found drugs stashed in the car and a convicted murderer sat in the passenger seat.

Samantha McEvoy, 34, and Nicholas Cole, 45, were in a Honda CR-V when police stopped them in Liverpool in November 2021, ChronicleLive reports.

Bags of cannabis were found in the car before police went on to search McEvoy's Sunderland home, where cocaine, amphetamines and a number of documents containing suspected dealers' lists were discovered.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that Cole played a significant role in the drug dealing and was on licence at the time for a murder conviction dating back to when he was a teen.
