Teenage sweethearts who hoped to marry and start a family before they were killed in the Manchester attack have been called “Romeo and Juliet” by his heartbroken mum.
Chloe Rutherford, 17, and Liam Curry, 19, were murdered by suicide bomber Salman Abedi with 20 other victims at an Ariana Grande concert.
At the public inquiry into the bombing, Liam’s mother Caroline Curry said yesterday: “She was his Juliet and he her Romeo, but with one big difference, their families loved them both.” She said the couple “had it all worked out in twos”. “After two years they’d have saved a deposit for a flat,” she said. “Another two years and they would hope to be married.
